Other disconnects on the market often only have 3 ball bearings, resulting in a loose connection that can result in unnecessary downtime. Male threaded 1/4″ NPT-M disconnects (most common) are available in steel or brass. Brass is recommended for aluminum/non-ferrous wire applications to prevent wire contamination. Rubber insulator sleeves are available to reduce the risk of electric shock.
